A mechanism, not an animation.
Every pose is solved from the same fixed hardpoints and link lengths.
The wheel is attached to a rigid upright; it is not independently
animated. All dimensions are in millimeters. This is a representative
teaching geometry, not an OEM design or a validated
suspension-development tool.
Kinematic model

Each wishbone rotates about its two chassis pivots. The upper ball
joint is the outward intersection of the upper-arm circle and the
fixed-length upright sphere in the upper arm plane.

Rack travel translates both inner tie-rod joints. Upright steering
is solved about the instantaneous kingpin axis while preserving
tie-rod length. Unequal left and right steering angles emerge from
the linkage; perfect Ackermann is not imposed.

The displayed wheel travel is actual vertical hub displacement. A
bracketed solve accounts for hub movement caused by both suspension
rotation and steering-axis inclination.

Coilover ends follow the chassis and lower arm. Spring compression
is measured from static ride height, not from the unloaded spring
length. No spring force, damping force, compliance, tire deflection,
collision detection or road-contact constraint is modeled.

Dashed traces show the upper ball joint, lower ball joint and wheel
center over the full ±60 mm sweep at the current rack position. The
long violet line is the instantaneous kingpin axis extended to the
nominal road plane.
Coordinate and sign convention
X points to vehicle left, Y points forward, Z points up. Positive
travel is bump. Positive rack moves toward vehicle left (+X), which
steers this rear-mounted linkage right. Positive steering is a right
turn. Negative camber means the tire top leans inward. Positive caster
means the upper ball joint is rearward. Roll mode prescribes opposite
left/right wheel travel while the chassis remains fixed. The grid is a
datum, not a simulated road.

Right corner is mirrored about X = 0. Tire radius: 310 mm; width: 210
mm. Static camber: −1°. Nominal track: 1,580 mm. The coilover lower
mount is at 66% of the lower-arm span, Y = +35 mm. Export includes 121
solved left/right poses at the selected rack position and axle
excitation.
Viewport controls
Drag to orbit; scroll or use + / − to zoom. Arrow keys orbit a focused
viewport. Orthographic Front, Top and Side views preserve dimensional
proportions. “Left corner” hides the opposite assembly for inspection.
Space pauses or resumes when the viewport or Run button is focused.
Reset restores all motion inputs, display layers and the camera.
